Sophia brings 20 years of dance experience and 8 years of teaching expertise to Slick Motion Studios. Trained extensively as a classical ballet dancer from an early age, she expanded her passion into jazz, contemporary, and lyrical as a teenager! Her comprehensive dance background spans classical and competitive stages, including performances in ballets such as Cinderella, Giselle, and The Nutcracker.

Her dance journey began at just two years old, evolving through diverse studio training across the country in ballet, pointe, contemporary, lyrical, jazz, and tap. While earning her first bachelor’s degree at the University of Florida, she was an active member, Show Director, and President of Floridance, UF’s original student dance organization. Throughout her four years with the company, she choreographed numerous pieces for semi-annual showcases and community outreach events.

Her teaching career began at 14 as an assistant instructor, and by 16, she was leading her own technique classes, competition groups, and summer intensive camps. In college, she continued teaching and choreographing contemporary, jazz, and lyrical for dancers in her organization.

Outside the studio, Sophia is earning her second bachelor's degree in Zoology and interning at the Florida Aquarium Sea Turtle Rehabilitation Center in Apollo Beach! She aspires to pursue a career in zoology and conservation while continuing to teach dance. She is thrilled to inspire dancers of all ages to express themselves through movement!
