Chelsea Bonner

Tap Instructor

Chelsea is thrilled to join Slick Motion Studios as the new tap dance teacher! With 17 years of training in tap, jazz, and ballet, Chelsea’s deep connection to tap has inspired her to pursue a teaching role and share her passion with aspiring young dancers.

She began dancing at the age of 3 and quickly discovered a deep appreciation for the movement and rhythm of dance. Over the years, Chelsea has honed her skills, building a solid foundation in technique, musicality, and performance. Her dedication to the art form has led her to train with top industry professionals and perform in theater productions, local performances, and dance competitions.

With a Bachelor in Fine Art, she has not only excelled in the technical aspects of dance but also has a strong foundation in the broader world of the arts. Her academic background enriches her approach to teaching, giving students a deeper understanding of movement, creativity, and artistic expression. In addition, she has served as a substitute school teacher for multiple grade levels and volunteered as an assistant ballet teacher where she worked with students to develop their technical skills and performance abilities. These roles allowed her to further refine her teaching methods and gain valuable insight into how to effectively communicate with and motivate students of all ages.

In the studio, she is dedicated to sharing her love for tap dance with students of all ages. She is passionate about helping students discover their rhythm, develop their coordination, and gain confidence on stage. She believes that dance is not just about movement, but about telling a story through rhythm and sound, and she strives to make each class an opportunity for students to grow both as dancers and individuals.

Outside of the studio, she enjoys spending her time at the beach, reading, and volunteering at the Sea Turtle Rehab Center for The Florida Aquarium, where she helps care for and rehabilitate sea turtles. She also cherishes spending time with her husband and three dogs, enjoying the balance of family life and her passion for nature and animals.
